Avoiding STIs

Sexually Transmitted Infections can be easily prevented.

The best way to avoid STI’s is to use a condom when having sexual intercourse. There are a few other things that can be done to reduce the chance of catching STI’s:

  • Limiting sexual partners
  • Talking about sexual history
  • Getting regularly tested and the partner
  • Getting vaccinated against HPV and HBV where needed.

Although STI’s are common there are ways to reduce your risk and have sex safer.

If you are unsure about the right method of protection for yourself, please talk to your GP and your partner or your local sexual health service provider.
